Expected Learning Outcomes

he attendance of the scheduled hours in the 2nd year, 2nd semester is aimed at promoting theoretical learning for practical application and at developing and consolidating:

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
  • Initial ability to observe individuals with pre- and post-verbal hearing disorders in adulthood and old age, as well as disorders resulting from total oncological laryngeal surgery (pulmonary and olfactory phonatory outcomes)

  • Initial ability to identify the distinctive features of the clinical fields addressed, in relation to speech therapy assessment and treatment: materials, methods, and administration

  • Ability to observe the relationship between the speech therapist and the assisted person in the context of taking charge and providing specific technical-informative counselling

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
  • Develop the ability to compare what is learned in theoretical lessons with what is observed during clinical internship in the specific fields addressed

  • Develop the ability to identify evidence-based best practices regarding assessment, treatment, and program development within the clinical areas addressed

  • Identify the goals of the individualized plan built on the basis of multidisciplinary clinical assessment

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Identify the specific professional competencies and behaviors expected according to the code of ethics

Required Prerequisites

Passing the internship exam of the first year of the degree program and completion of all the internship hours required for the second year of the program. Possession of anatomical and physiological knowledge as well as specialized clinical background in audiology and otorhinolaryngology.

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is mandatory for 100% of the hours scheduled for the year.
